George Pelgrim was born on March 3, 1953, in Willemstad, Curaçao, as the fifth of seven children in a close-knit family. His parents, Otilio Pedro Pelgrim (OP Pelgrim) and Marie Matilde Hart, originally from Bonaire, worked diligently to provide for their family—his father as a Customs Officer and his mother as a dedicated homemaker. Though both have passed, they instilled in their children the values of harmony, humility, discipline, honesty, and respect for others.
